Jammu, Mar 12 (JKNS): A meeting was held today between Shagun Parihar, Member of Legislative Assembly, Kishtwar and Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister of Communications, in New Delhi to discuss the pressing issue of inadequate communication infrastructure in several remote areas of the district.
During the meeting, the matter of persistent lack of reliable telecom connectivity in the far-flung regions, including Kiyar, Kibber and Ananthnalla from Block Dacchan, as well as Haddar (Kuntwara) from Block Dhrabshalla, was brought to the attention of the Union Minister. It was highlighted that the residents of these areas continue to face significant difficulties due to poor or non-existent network coverage.
The discussion emphasized that the absence of dependable communication services has led to serious hardships for the local population, affecting access to emergency services, education, digital facilities and overall socio-economic development. The need to strengthen telecom infrastructure in these remote locations was strongly underlined so that people living in these areas can remain connected with the rest of the country.
A request was made to the Union Minister to extend his support and ensure necessary intervention for improving telecom connectivity in the region. Strengthening the communication network, it was stressed, would play a vital role in enhancing public services, promoting development and improving the quality of life for residents of these remote areas.
Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia gave a patient hearing to the concerns raised and assured that the matter would be looked into so that the communication needs of the people in these remote regions can be addressed effectively. (JKNS)
