Beerwah, Mar 13 (JKNS): In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, the 62 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army organized a community Iftar gathering for children at Apna Ghar Orphanage in Beerwah Budgam on Thursday.

The event brought together members of civil society, religious scholars, and local residents from various parts of the area. Several respected members of civil society and local Molvis participated in the programme and appreciated the initiative aimed at promoting communal harmony and strengthening bonds with the local community during the sacred month of Ramadan.

During the event, participants shared the spirit of togetherness and brotherhood while breaking their fast. The gathering also provided an opportunity for meaningful interaction between the local community and security personnel, highlighting the importance of mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation.

As the sun set and the call to prayer was heard, Army personnel and members of the local community broke their fast together, sharing a traditional meal in an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie. This gesture reflected the spirit of “Humsaya” (neighborly bond), which was widely appreciated by the attendees. Many noted that such initiatives go a long way in bridging gaps and building lasting trust between security forces and civilians.

Speaking on the occasion, community members appreciated the efforts of the 62 Rashtriya Rifles for organizing programmes that encourage positive engagement and foster goodwill among the people. They emphasized that such initiatives help strengthen social ties and promote unity, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan.

The organizers reiterated their commitment to continue working for peace, harmony, and the welfare of the people in the region. The evening concluded with collective prayers for peace, prosperity, and development in the Valley.
