Shopian, Mar 18 (JKNS): A joint-team of Food Safety, Food Supply, Police and Revenue departments headed by Naib Tehsildar, Chitragam, today made surprise inspection of market of Chitragam to ensure adherence to quality, hygiene and fair trade norms.
The inspection team inspected several business and bakery establishments in the market. During the inspection, the team found unhygienic conditions in some establishments and also detected underweight bakery items being sold to consumers.
Taking serious note of the violations, the team recovered a fine of Rs 3000 on the spot from the violators and strictly directed the shopkeepers to maintain proper hygiene, quality standards and correct weight in all food items.
The team warned that strict action will be taken against violators in future as well and such inspections will continue to safeguard the interests of the public. (JKNS)
