Anantnag, Mar 23 (JKNS): Police have booked a hotel in Pahalgam for allegedly hiding the stay of foreign tourists and failing to follow mandatory reporting procedures.
According to details available with news agency JKNS, during routine inspection in the Dehwatoo area, officials found that 23 foreign nationals, including 19 from the United Kingdom, had checked into a hotel in Laddi on March 22.
Police said the hotel authorities neither informed Police Station Pahalgam nor submitted the mandatory Form ‘C’, thereby violating provisions of the Foreigners and Immigration Act, 2025 and compromising established security norms.
Following this, an FIR (No. 18/2026) under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Pahalgam and investigation has been taken up.
Police have urged all hotel operators to ensure strict compliance with rules regarding registration and reporting of foreign guests. (JKNS)
