Srinagar, Mar 23 (JKNS): Employees of the Cultural Academy have alleged that they were not paid their salaries on the occasion of Eid, expressing concern over delays and alleged disparity in wage disbursement.
As per reports received by news agency JKNS, employees claimed that neither staff in Jammu nor in Srinagar were paid, despite expectations that salaries would be released ahead of Eid. They alleged that while payments were reportedly made during Diwali earlier, no such consideration was extended on Eid, leading to resentment among workers.
The employees further stated that many of them are under financial stress as bank loan instalments and interest deductions continue despite non-payment of salaries, adding to their hardship.
They also alleged that the department had sufficient revenue generated from facilities like Abhinav Theatre and Tagore Hall, which could have been utilised to clear pending dues.
The employees have urged the authorities to intervene and ensure timely release of salaries, particularly during important occasions, to avoid further distress. (JKNS)
