Bandipora, Mar 27 (JKNS): The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (NC) Unit Sonawari today held a press conference expressing gratitude to MLA Sonawari Hilal Akbar Lone and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for the approval of a ₹80 crore grid station for the Pushwari area in Sonawari.
Addressing the media, party representatives said the project was approved in the recent cabinet meeting and will soon be constructed in Pushwari. They termed it a historic step that fulfills a long-pending demand of the people of Sonawari.
The press conference was attended by Constituency Spokesperson Ishaq Bin Nabi, Tsaduk Hussain, and Block President Hajin Abdul Ahad Ganie, along with other party workers.
Speakers highlighted that the grid station will significantly improve electricity supply in the constituency, reduce dependence on external power sources, and ensure a more stable and reliable power system for local residents.
They emphasized that the achievement was made possible due to the consistent efforts and leadership of Hilal Akbar Lone, who raised the issue at various levels. The NC leaders also thanked Omar Abdullah for approving the project and prioritizing the developmental needs of Sonawari.
During the interaction, party members hinted at another major announcement in the coming days related to the Saderkoot Bala area, raising expectations among the public.
The NC Unit reaffirmed its commitment to development, stating that more people-centric initiatives are on the way for the betterment of Sonawari. (JKNS)
