Srinagar, Mar 27 (JKNS): A snow avalanche hit near Dayal Pass on the Zojila axis in Ganderbal district on Friday, trapping several vehicles under snow and debris, officials said.
An official told news agency JKNS, that at least three to four passenger vehicles were caught in the avalanche, leading to the closure of the strategic road and disruption of traffic movement.
He said that no casualties or injuries have been reported so far, while efforts are underway to assess the situation.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal Khalil Poswal reached the spot. Officials said SSP Beacon, SDPO and rescue teams are already on site, and a rescue operation has been initiated to evacuate stranded persons and clear the road. (JKNS)
