Srinagar, Mar 27 (JKNS): Flight operations at Srinagar Airport are set to be partially curtailed from April 6 due to scheduled runway maintenance, officials said on Friday.
An airport official told news agency JKNS that the airport presently handles around 60 daily flight movements, including arrivals and departures, between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
He said that as per a NOTAM issued by the Indian Air Force, operational hours for commercial flights will be limited up to 5:00 PM from April 6 to July 31, 2026, owing to the ongoing runway works.
Despite the reduced operational window, officials stated that overall flight frequency is likely to rise in line with the DGCA-approved summer schedule, with airlines planning services within the revised timeframe.
The Airports Authority of India has assured that passenger safety and operational efficiency will remain a priority, while travellers have been advised to follow official updates and refrain from relying on unverified information. (JKNS)
