Jammu, Mar 27 (JKNS): In a heartfelt tribute to a lifetime dedicated to art and culture, veteran radio artist Kamla Sharma was honoured with the prestigious “Duggar Shree Sammaan” during a grand felicitation held in Jammu on the occasion of World Theatre Day.
On the occasion of World Theatre Day, a grand felicitation ceremony was organized in Jammu by the Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association to honour veteran radio artist Mrs. Kamla Sharma with the prestigious “Duggar Shree Sammaan” for her lifetime contribution to art and culture.
At the age of 94, Mrs. Kamla Sharma continues to be an inspiring figure in the field of arts. She served as a radio artist from 1960 to 2015, and through her powerful voice, expressive performances, and deep dedication, she touched the hearts of generations of listeners. She played a significant role in promoting Dogri language, theatre, and broadcasting arts, thereby strengthening the cultural roots of the region.
The ceremony was attended by prominent artists, cultural enthusiasts, and members of the association, who appreciated her remarkable journey and acknowledged her invaluable contribution to the cultural identity of Duggar. Speakers highlighted that her dedication and commitment serve as a guiding light for young artists.
