Sopore, Mar 30 (JKNS): Residents of Sopore are pressing the authorities to extend the amnesty scheme for outstanding PDD bills, citing widespread financial hardship. Dr. Ferooz Ahmad Said, a local resident, shared his struggles, “Due to the loss of my apple orchard in the Kashmir valley last year, we’re facing a lot of problems.”
The plea highlights the struggles of many families in Sopore, who are barely getting by and finding it tough to clear their PDD debts. “Paying off huge PDD bills is a massive burden,” said a resident.
Villagers from Zaingair and Rafiabad Belt of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district have joined the appeal, urging Governor LG Manoj Sinha, CM Omar Abdullah, MLA Sopore Irshad Rasool, and Cabinet Minister Javid Ahmad Dar to extend the amnesty scheme and waive interest rates on PDD bills. (JKNS)
