Srinar, Mar 30 (JKNS): The District Administration Srinagar on Monday issued a strict weather advisory amid deteriorating conditions, urging residents to avoid non-essential movement and remain vigilant as rain, snowfall in higher reaches, thunder and gusty winds are expected to persist till March 31.

According to the advisory, accessed by news agency JKNS, intermittent light to moderate rainfall and snowfall, accompanied by strong winds ranging between 40–50 kmph, are likely to impact normal life across Srinagar and adjoining areas till late evening/night and into the next day.

The administration has strongly advised the general public to restrict travel unless absolutely necessary. Special caution has been issued for tourists, Shikara operators, sand miners and others operating around Dal Lake, River Jhelum and other water bodies, directing them not to venture out without assessing safety conditions.

Authorities have also activated emergency response systems, asking citizens to contact the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) or Police Control Room (PCR) Srinagar in case of any exigency.

The administration has urged people to cooperate with safety measures and stay alert to avoid any untoward incidents amid the prevailing weather conditions. (JKNS)
