Srinagar, Apr 2 (JKNS): A driver died while couple sustained injuries after a school van crashed into shop near at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Thursday, while Fortunately, all students onboard escaped unharmed.
An official told news agency JKNS that the driver, identified as Javeed Ahmad, 47, a resident of Umair Abad, Bemina, was critically injured and rushed to SMHS Hospital for treatment.
He was reportedly driving the school van when he lost control near SSI Bank at Lal Chowk, leading to the accident and causing severe injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital despite medical efforts.
Couple residents of Khayam also sustained injuries in the incident and are currently under treatment, with their condition stated to be stable.
Police have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated further investigation. (JKNS)
