Srinagar Administration Issues Advisory Amid Inclement Weather, Public Urged to Stay Cautious

Srinagar, Apr 3 (JKNS): The District Administration Srinagar on Friday issued a public advisory in view of ongoing adverse weather conditions and forecast of intermittent rain and snowfall in the region.

As per the advisory issued by the Office of the District Magistrate Srinagar, as per news agency JKNS, light to moderate rainfall, along with snowfall in higher reaches, is likely to continue at most places, including Srinagar, till April 4 evening. The forecast also indicates thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph.

Authorities have advised residents to avoid non-essential travel and remain indoors as far as possible.

People associated with activities in and around Dal Lake, River Jhelum and other water bodies, including tourists, Shikara operators and sand miners, have been cautioned to verify safety conditions before venturing out.

The administration has urged the public to remain alert and cooperate with officials, adding that emergency assistance is available through the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) and Police Control Room (PCR). (JKNS)
