Srinagar, Apr 5 (JKNS): On the occasion of the BJP’s foundation day, J&K spokesperson Altaf Thakur extended warm greetings to party workers and supporters, recalling the party’s ideological foundations laid on April 6, 1980.
He said the BJP was built upon the enduring principles of Nationalism and National Unity, Democracy, Gandhian Socialism, Positive Secularism (Sarva Dharma Sambhav), and Value-based Politics, which continue to guide its policies and public outreach.
Thakur stated that these “Panch Nishthas” are not merely ideals but the driving force behind the party’s governance model and its connect with the people. He noted that the BJP has consistently worked to translate these principles into action through its focus on Development (Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas), aiming to ensure inclusive growth and equitable opportunities for all sections of society.
He further highlighted the party’s emphasis on Employment & Economic Growth, saying that sustained efforts are being made to boost industries, create jobs, and strengthen the country’s economic backbone.
Referring to the rural sector, Thakur said the BJP remains committed to Support for Farmers through better MSP mechanisms, improved irrigation facilities, crop insurance schemes, and overall rural development initiatives.
Underscoring the importance of safety and sovereignty, he said.
National Security, remains a top priority, with firm policies and decisive action to safeguard the nation’s integrity. He added that the party’s focus on Good Governance & Corruption-Free System has strengthened transparency, accountability, and public trust in institutions.
