Karnah: (JKNS) A dignified and memorable Mushaira (poetic symposium) was organized today at the Cultural Hall, Kundi Karnah, in honour of Commander 104 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier S.K. Pradhan. The event witnessed the participation of a large number of prominent personalities from academic, literary, social, and civil society circles of the region.
The gathering was attended by the Deputy Commander of 104 Infantry Brigade, Sudeep Bose (CO RT Regiment), army officers, members of the Bar Association, heads of teachers’ associations, writers, poets, intellectuals, and other respected citizens.
During the Mushaira, local poets captivated the audience with their beautiful poetry and received immense appreciation. The participating poets included Abdul Rashid Qureshi, Abdul Rashid Lone Ghamgeen, Shabir Ghazi, Mir Haider Nadeem, Raja Nazar Ahmad Khan, Naeem Karnahi, Mashkoor Ahmad Shad, Rana Shah Mohammad, Joginder Inqalabi, Iftikhar Qureshi, Shakeel Awan Sagar, Sajjad Qureshi, and Amjad Sheikh.
The event was presided over by noted intellectual Abdul Rashid Qureshi, while the proceedings were conducted gracefully by renowned literary personality Mohammad Ayub Mir (Naeem Karnahi).
Speakers on the occasion praised the services of Brigadier S.K. Pradhan, stating that during his tenure he significantly strengthened trust, harmony, and goodwill between the army and the local population.
In his address, Brigadier Pradhan appreciated the love, sincerity, and cooperation of the people of Karnah, describing them as cultured, patriotic, and supportive, who have always stood shoulder to shoulder with the army in difficult times. He highlighted the people’s deep love for the nation and their commitment to peace and development.
He also urged the public, especially the youth, to actively contribute towards maintaining cleanliness, improving the environment, and combating the menace of drug abuse. He appealed to teachers and parents to intensify awareness campaigns in schools to educate children about the harmful effects of drugs.
Brigadier Pradhan emphasized that education, literature, cleanliness, sports, and positive activities are key to building a bright future for the younger generation and strengthening society.
He expressed hope that the people of Karnah will continue to uphold unity, brotherhood, and patriotism. At the conclusion of the event, participants paid tribute to Brigadier Pradhan’s services and extended their best wishes for his future assignment. He was also honoured with shawls, bouquets, and mementos by the local community.(JKNS)
