Srinagar, Apr 10 (JKNS): A minor girl was killed in a stray dog attack in the Seloo area of North Kashmir’s Sopore, triggering outrage among residents who blamed the municipal authorities for the growing menace.
An official told news agency JKNS, The deceased has been identified as Aiman Adnan Sheikh, daughter of Adnan Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Seloo, Sopore.
Reports said that, the child had gone to her land when she was attacked by a stray dog, leading to her death.
Officials, including Tehsildar Bomai Zaingair Zahid Rashid and DO Bus Stand Sopore Shoaib Ahmad, reached the spot soon after the incident.
Police have registered an FIR and initiated further investigation into the matter.
Locals alleged that the situation has worsened due to the Municipal Committee Sopore, claiming stray dogs have been left in the area, creating fear among residents.
They demanded immediate action to control the stray dog population and ensure safety of children. (JKNS)
