BJP Councilor, Security Guard dead in Sopore militant attack, Another Councilor critical

Sopore, Mar 29 : A BJP Councilor and a security guard of another Councilor died after militants attacked them in North Kashmir’s Sopore town of Baramulla district.

Sources told that militants attacked Councilors outside SDH Sopore.

They said BJP Councilor Riyaz Pir of Ningli, security guard of another Councilor Masrat Kar, and Councilor Shamsuddin Pir of Jamia Qadeem Sopore sustained bullet injuries. They were shifted to hospital where two among them succumbed to their injuries.

The deceased have been identified as Riyaz Pir and Constable . The condition of Shamsuddin Pir is stated to be critical.

The area was under cordon till the filing of this report.
