Srinagar ,4 April:  Expressing concern over the dilapidated condition of hospitals, Kashmir Trade Alliance said that the matter would be taken up with the Divisional  Commissioner Kashmir Ajaz Shahdhar President, Kashmir Trade Alliance, termed the lack of infrastructure and necessary equipment in the hospitals of the Valley, especially the SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, as playing with the lives of the patients.

He said that the President was adamant about the posting of only one nurse in the Medical and Surgical Emergency  ward of Hospital and administration and the authorities were directly endangering the lives of the patients.

“The Glucometer meter is not available and there is no equipment to hang glucose and other medicines along with the beds, due to which the  attendants have to hang glucose in their hands as a human hangar” Shahdhar Said

Ajaz shahdhar said in a questioning manner that the authorities and hospital administrators never tire of announcing that crores of rupees have been released to the health sector, but even the most  important things are not available in the hospitals at the ground level.

He Said  only one nurse is available for the  two wards, which is not only a source of contention for the nurse, but also a major problem for the sick and the needy. He said that the matter would be taken up with the Provincial Commissioner Kashmir soon so that hospitals especially SHMS should be improved.
