STATE LEVEL WOMEN CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP BY ARMY COMMENCES AT GANDARBAL

Ganderbal 5th April:The State Level Women Cricket Championship is being organized at Govt College of Physical Education Gadura Cricket Stadium with a grand ceremony in the presence of various prominent persons of the civil society.
In continuation of Indian Army’s efforts to encourage sports in Kashmir Valley Ganderbal based 5 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion (JAT) under the Aegis of 3
Sector RR launched the much awaited championship showcasing the talent and commitment of Kashmiri youth in sports.
A total of eight teams from all parts of Kashmir Valley are participating in the tournament which is being played on a knock out basis.
The Chief Guest in his address to the teams encouraged the young players to utilise this golden opportunity not only to showcase their talents but also to imbibe some of the most important life lessons through the medium of sports. He appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee for conducting the event and was pleased to see the large numbers of enthusiastic audience that had come to witness the match. He declared the tournament open amidst fanfare and excitement.
An inaugural match was played between DWCA, Kupwara and DWCA, Ganderbal to mark the beginning of the tournament.
