SAJY-2021 arrangements reviewed at Gbl

GANDERBAL, APRIL 07: To ensure smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SAJY)-2021 via Baltal, the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today chaired a meeting of officers to review the arrangements.

During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held for making arrangements in connection with the adequate supply of essentials, transport facilities, drinking water, power supply, medicare facilities, availability of firewood, sanitation, besides macadamization of roads and snow clearance up to the holy cave via Baltal.

At the outset of the meeting, the DC sought department wise details about the preparedness put in place for enhancing the capacity and augmentation of services for accommodating the pilgrims.

Regarding registration of service providers during yatra, the DC was apprised that the registration of ponies and the registration of laborers including pony walas, pithuwalas and Dandiwalas shall be initiated soon.

Jyotsna stressed upon the officers for taking up all the requisite measures to ensure proper arrangements and facilities at transit camp Manigam and Baltal base camp, besides en-route for smooth conduct of ensuing Yatra.

She issued directions along with the timelines to start the works at the earliest for increasing the number of holding capacity along with augmentation of allied facilities for facilitating comfortable journey of the pilgrims.

Among others, SSP Ganderbal, ADC Ganderbal, SDM Kangan, ACR, Chief Planning Officer besides officers of district administration attended the meeting.
