April 19: Continuing its efforts to strengthen the police public relations, to limit the outbreak of Coronavirus and to ensure health-safety of public, Police organised an interaction meeting with Traders Federation Bandipora/transporters of Bandipora and Imams at DPL Bandipora. Besides Police in Sopore distributed face masks among general public.
The meeting was held while following social distancing norms and other protocols. The interaction meeting was chaired by SSP Bandipora Shri Mohmmad Zahid-JKPS, while as ASP Bandipora, DySP Hqrs Bandipora and DySP DAR Bandipora were also present.
SSP Bandipora impressed upon participants to follow all COVID-19 SOPs and guidelines issued by health department and district administration Bandipora. The participants were also stressed upon to ensure social distancing and wearing of masks at Masjid, Public transport and in markets.
The participants assured that they will follow the guidelines/orders of government and advisories of health department.
Similarly, Sopore Police have been geared up throughout the jurisdiction to take up measures to control the spread of Covid in the Police district. Measures including the support to civil administration in containment zones and testing, awareness, meeting with Ulema and Imams etc for SOPs and considering multiple sittings of Namaz wherever possible to thin out gathering, distribution of face masks at various public places, cooperation sought by various market and transport associations etc have been taken up.
People without masks are being provided with masks by the police and are being warned for stringent action to be taken against them if found without masks.
People are requested to take COVID seriously and follow the SOPs so that its spread can be prevented.
