May 20: Police in Baramulla recovered a kidnapped minor girl within 12 hours after the complaint was received in Police Station Uri.
On 19/05/2021, PS Uri received a complaint from a person stating therein that his daughter had been kidnapped by one person namely Muneer Ahmad son of Nazeer Ahmad resident of Khamoh Rafiabad.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 50/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Uri and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation a police team of Police Station Uri was able to recover the kidnapped girl within 12 hours after the complaint was received in Police Station Uri. However the accused person fled away from the spot and entered into a dense forest of Panzalla area. Efforts are on to effect his arrest.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Investigation into the matter is in progress.
Community members are requested to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood. They can share information pertaining to social crimes with police. We reassure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue.
