17-yr-old youth slips into Jhelum at Chattabal, feared dead

Srinagar, May 21: A 17-year-old youth was feared dead on Friday after he slipped into the Jhelum river at Rampora Veer in Chattabal area of Srinagar.

Sources informed the news agency that a youth identified as Momin Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, Class 11th student from Rampora Veer Chattabal, slipped into Jhelum river when he was crossing the foot bridge in the area.

They said the incident took place late Friday evening.

However, officials said that the operation will be launched tomorrow morning. “we have just received the information and the search operation will be launched in the wee hours of tomorrow morning,” they said.
