Shopian, May 21 : A 23-year-old girl on Friday sustained severe burns after allegedly attempting suicide by setting herself ablaze in southern region of Kashmir.
Sources told that the young girl (name withheld), a resident of Chotigam area of Shopian allegedly set herself ablaze at her home.
Sources said that soon after the incident she was immediately taken to a nearby hospital from where she was referred to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile, police in this regard has registered a case and started further investigation.
