DISTRICT POLICE GANDERBAL APPREHENDS DRUG PEDDLERS; A CONSIGNMENT OF HEROIN LIKE SUBSTANCES AND A VEHICLE WERE SEIZED ON SPOT.

Ganderbal 2 june : District Police Ganderbal in its concerted efforts to eradicate menace of drug abuse from the society, made yet another breakthrough in tackling drug peddlers.

Acting on a specific tipoff about two persons on board a Skoda vehicle carrying some consignment of narcotic drugs in Lar area, a Police led by SHO Police Station Lar SI Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ganderbal Dr. Abdul Majid Magray-JKPS. The Police party intercepted the vehicle bearing registration No. DL4CNA- 3705 and conducted frisking in presence of Executive Magistrate and seized Heroin – like substance grossly weighing about 76 grams along with the vehicle. The two persons were arrested on the spot and identified as Muneer Ahmad Khan S/O Ghulam Nabi Khan R/O Peth Serch, Ganderbal and Farhad Ahmad Khan S/O Ameer Ahmad Khan R/O Gutlibagh, Ganderbal.In this regard case FIR No. 36/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Lar, further investigation is going on.
Locals of the area have hailed this action of Ganderbal Police and expected that this type of action against drug menace shall continue in the future also.
