PMBPY Awareness Camp Organised At JLNM Hospital

Medical Kits/ Sanitary Napkins Distributed Among Beneficiaries

Srinagar Oct 10: Under the ongoing nationwide programme of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahaotsav, the J&K chapter of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Ayushadhi Pariyojna (PMBPY)
distributed free medical kits among the beneficiaries and also organised a free health camp at JLNM Hospital Srinagar on Sunday.
Rifat Nazir Nodal Officer for J&K chapter of PMBPY scheme presented a brief welcome address and threw light on the basic details of the programme. She thanked Health Department for it’s support in organising this awareness program at JLNM Hospital. ‘’PMBPY is helping people round the country to get quality medicines on very affordable rates’’, she added.
She in her speech stated that these programme aimed at disseminating basic information about the scheme to the general public.
Dozens of sanitary napkins were also distributed among young adolescent girls and women. Dr Shahzada Mohammad Saleem Khan, HOD SPM in GMC Srinagar while highlighting the importance and benefits of the scheme said that it’s heartening to see poor patients getting benefited from the scheme. He also said that he himself has been taking Jan Aushadhi medicines and have experienced the desired results. Dr Nishat, Assistant Director Health Services Kashmir also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the role of J&K chapter of the scheme in opening more than 111 stores in J&K. She also informed the gathering that the Department of Health is trying the best to aware people in general and medicos in particular about the high efficacy of the Jan Aushadhi drugs.
Famous Broadcaster and TV Anchor Azhar Hajini who conducted the proceedings of the programme thanked all the stake holders for making the programme a great success. He praised the role of print and electronic media in informing general public about the benefits of such schemes and programmes.
Others who spoke on this occasion include MS JLNM Hospital Bilquees Shah and Dr Mohammad Yousf Tak.
Assistant Drug Controller Kashmir Mohammad Younis, HOD Chest Medicine GMC Srinagar, Dr Naveed Nazir Shah, Super Stockist of the scheme for Kashmir Hilal Ahmed, PMBPY Kendra owners of district Srinagar and people from different walks of life were also present in the function.
