The Indian Army on Sunday hosted an Iftar party to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. During the ongoing sacred month of Ramadan, Muslims observe fast from dawn to dusk for about 30 days. They eat ‘sehri’ (a pre-dawn meal) and break their day-long fast with ‘iftar’ in the evening.
Army COB 15 Garhwal Rifles at Reshinagar organised an Iftar Party for the locals of the area this evening.
A large number of local Resident’s opened their Roza with dates, fruits and Sharbat and offered the Magrib Nimaz, followed by the dinner. Sumptuous Wazwan dishes were offered which were relished by the guests who came in large number and mingled with each other.
It was a mean to convey greetings and to spread the message of love, affection and mutual trust by the army during this holy month.
Locals say these iftaar parties are a positive step to maintain the social harmony.
The Commanding Officer 15 Gharwal Rifles said that this spreads the message of love and peace among the people.
