ANTF Jammu Nabs Interstate Smuggler, Seizes 500g High-Quality Heroin

Srinagar, Nov 11 (JKNS): The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Jammu on Tuesday achieved a major breakthrough after recovering 500 grams of superior-quality heroin and arresting an interstate smuggler during a swift operation based on specific intelligence inputs.

Spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS said, Acting swiftly on a specific and reliable input, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Jammu achieved a major success by recovering approximately 500 grams of Heroin and arresting one interstate drug smuggler involved in the illicit narcotics trade, it reads.

During the operation, a team of ANTF Jammu intercepted the suspect following sustained surveillance and credible intelligence regarding drug trafficking activity, it reads.

The accused has been identified as Mohd. Parvez S/o Mohd. Shaheed, resident of Jaffarabad, North-East Delhi. Upon search, the team recovered around 500 grams of Heroin from his possession, it reads.

Statement reads, this connection, FIR No. 03/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu, and further investigation has been initiated to unearth the backward and forward linkages of this interstate drug trafficking network.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the accused was part of a larger network involved in supplying narcotics from outside the Union Territory to local peddlers within Jammu & Kashmir. ANTF is working on identifying other members of the syndicate and tracing the source and destination of the contraband, it reads.

The Anti-Narcotics Task Force, J&K, continues its dedicated efforts to combat drug trafficking and to dismantle interstate networks involved in the smuggling and distribution of narcotics, it reads.

The general public is urged to come forward with any information related to drug trafficking and help the police in its ongoing mission to make Jammu & Kashmir drug-free, read sthe statement. (JKNS)
