Budgam, Dec 31 (JKNS): The Cyber Crime Investigation Centre of Excellence (CICE), Crime Branch Kashmir, conducted a cyber awareness programme at Shahi Hamdan School, Khumani Chowk, Bemina, in district Budgam, with an aim to sensitise students and faculty about emerging cyber threats and safe digital practices.

As per details, participants were informed about possible loopholes in communication devices that cyber criminals and fraudsters often exploit to commit cyber crimes. The programme also educated attendees about various cyber crime reporting portals and helpline numbers to ensure timely reporting of such incidents in the future.

The initial address during the programme was delivered by Deputy Superintendent of Police (SHO) CICE Srinagar, Mr Ashiq Hussain Malik, followed by a detailed PowerPoint presentation by Inspector Masroor Ahmad and Selection Grade Constable Javid Ahmad.

The speakers, while imparting basic knowledge about day-to-day cyber crime incidents, also briefed the participants on preventive measures to safeguard themselves from such crimes in future.

More than 200 participants actively interacted with the speakers and sought clarifications during the question-and-answer session.

Principal of the institution, Aijaz Ahmad Baba, appreciated the efforts of the CICE Srinagar team and extended a note of thanks to the head of the department for organising the cyber awareness programme at the school. (JKNS)
