March, 06: (JKNS) The All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) has welcomed the outreach camps organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory administration to address grievances related to the properties of Kashmiri migrants. The initiative has been launched under Government Order No. 559 DIVCOMK of 2026 dated March 2, 2026.

In a press release, the organization appreciated the government’s effort to provide a platform for migrants to raise issues concerning their immovable properties left behind in the Valley after the migration in the 1990s. At the same time, AIKS has demanded a detailed Action Taken Report (ATR) to be submitted before the High Court of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh in Jammu in connection with the case OWP No. 477/2016 titled All India Kashmiri Samaj & Others vs Union of India and Others, which is currently pending adjudication.

AIKS President Ravinder Pandita also urged the administration to organize similar grievance redressal camps in Delhi NCR, where nearly 30 percent of displaced Kashmiri Hindus have been living since their forced migration.

He further called on the government to prepare a complete inventory of immovable properties belonging to Kashmiri migrants, with 1990 set as the cut-off year. According to him, the community fears that large-scale tampering of property records may have taken place after their exodus from the Valley.

Pandita also suggested that authorities conduct a local survey to identify ancestral properties of migrants that may not be supported by documentary records, as many families inherited these properties through generations but no longer possess the relevant documents.

The organization expressed hope that these measures would help protect the rights and heritage of displaced Kashmiri families and ensure transparency in property records.(JKNS)
