Srinagar, Apr 3 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered a thorough and impartial magisterial inquiry into the recent encounter at Arhama in Ganderbal, which led to the death of a local resident.

In a post on X, the Office of J&K LG, as per news agency JKNS, said that the inquiry will examine all aspects of the incident to ensure that justice is served.

According to an official order issued by the Home Department, the District Magistrate Ganderbal has been asked to conduct a detailed probe into the encounter that took place on April 1, 2026, resulting in the death of Raashid Ahmad Mughal, son of Late Gull Zaman Mughal, a resident of Chuntwaliwar Lar in Ganderbal.

The order further states that the inquiry must be completed within a period of seven days, and the report is to be submitted to the Home Department for further action. (JKNS)
