Srinagar, Apr 17 (JKNS): Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Sopore Police has achieved significant success in its ongoing anti-drug campaign, registering 34 FIRs and arresting 40 individuals till April 17.
Speaking to media persons, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sopore, Iftikhar Talib, as per news agency JKNS said, The cases have been registered under relevant provisions of law and further investigations are underway to dismantle the drug supply networks operating in the region.
He said the intensified drive is part of the broader vision of a “Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir,” aimed at eradicating the menace of drugs from society. Police teams have been actively targeting drug peddlers and working to break the chain of narcotics distribution.
SSP Sopore emphasized that the campaign is not limited to enforcement alone but also focuses on prevention and community participation. He urged the public to come forward with credible information regarding drug-related activities and assist police in safeguarding society.
“Sopore Police remains committed to taking strict action against those involved in drug trafficking while ensuring a safer and healthier environment for the youth,” SSP Talib said.
Police reiterated their appeal for collective responsibility, stating that active public cooperation is essential to achieve the goal of a drug-free society. (JKNS)
