Awantipora, Apr 17 (JKNS): As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, a comprehensive drug awareness programme was organised in Khrew, drawing active participation from students and local residents, with a focus on educating youth about the dangers of substance abuse and promoting a drug-free society.

Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, a drug awareness programme was conducted in Khrew under the supervision of SHO Khrew, Inspector Naieem Rashid.

The programme witnessed active participation of students and respectables of the Khrew area who actively engaged in the session.

During the programme, participants were sensitized about the harmful effects of drug abuse, its serious impact on physical and mental health, and the long-term consequences it poses to individuals, families, and society at large.

Speakers highlighted that substance abuse not only affects the health and well-being of individuals but also hampers academic growth, career opportunities, and overall future prospects. Emphasis was laid on making informed and responsible choices, resisting peer pressure, and adopting a healthy lifestyle.

An interactive session was also held, during which participants actively shared their views and raised queries related to drug addiction and its prevention. The importance of community involvement, parental guidance, and institutional support in combating the menace of drugs was also underscored.

The programme concluded with a strong message of collective responsibility and commitment towards realizing the vision of a drug-free society. (JKNS)
