Poonch, Apr 19 (JKNS): The Deputy Commissioner Poonch has issued directions for conducting a Civil Defence air raid and blackout mock exercise across the district from April 20 to April 24, 2026, aimed at strengthening emergency preparedness and coordinated response mechanisms.

The communication issued by Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), following instructions from the Deputy Inspector General Civil Defence & SDRF Jammu, calls upon all concerned departments to ensure effective planning and smooth execution of the exercise, reads the communique, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Chief Medical Officer, and Executive Engineers of PWD (R&B), I&FC, Jal Shakti and JPDCL, along with Municipal Council, SDRF and Fire & Emergency Services, have been directed to coordinate closely with Civil Defence authorities for the successful conduct of the mock drill.

The departments have been asked to make necessary arrangements in advance, including public awareness measures, logistics planning and inter-departmental coordination to avoid any inconvenience and ensure public participation and safety.

Officials have also been instructed to submit action taken reports to the Deputy Commissioner’s office for further submission to higher authorities, ensuring proper monitoring and evaluation of the exercise. (JKNS)
