Srinagar, Apr 22 (JKNS): Israel’s Ambassador to India Reuven Azar on Wednesday paid tributes to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack, expressing solidarity with India on the first anniversary of the tragedy and reaffirming joint resolve against terrorism.
In a video message on X, as per news agency JKNS, the Israeli Ambassador Reuvan Azar said, “Today India marks one year since the barbaric terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, where 26 innocent lives were lost. On behalf of Israel, I extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to the people of India. We stand with you in grief and solidarity.”
He further stated, “For us in Israel, this pain is deeply familiar. On October 7, we witnessed similar brutality against our own people. These tragedies remind us that terror has no borders. India and Israel stand united in the fight against terrorism. We remain committed to confronting this threat together with resolve and determination.”
The statement comes on the first anniversary of the April 22, 2025 terror attack in Baisaran, Pahalgam, where terrorists targeted tourists, killing 26 people, including 25 tourists and one pony ride operator.
Following the attack, India carried out retaliatory strikes on terror launch pads across the border on May 7 under “Operation Sindoor,” which continued for three days. The operation was later followed by a ceasefire announcement on May 11 at 5 PM. (JKNS)
