Budgam, Apr 22 (JKNS): The Zonal Physical Education Office (ZPEO) Beerwah successfully organized an Inter-School Zonal Level Athletics Meet (Boys) for all age groups at the DIET Ground Beerwah, showcasing remarkable enthusiasm, discipline, and sportsmanship among young athletes.

The event was formally inaugurated by the Activity Incharge, ZPEO Beerwah, Mr. Mohd Yaseen Jan, who encouraged participants to strive for excellence and uphold the true spirit of sports. The programme was conducted under the supervision of District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO) Budgam, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Lone, whose consistent guidance continues to strengthen grassroots sports development in the district.

A large number of students from various educational institutions across the zone participated in multiple track and field events, demonstrating talent, determination, and competitive spirit. The event not only provided a platform for emerging athletes but also promoted physical fitness and healthy competition among youth.

Simultaneously, Family Sports Events were organized under the banner of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle. The participation of families added a unique dimension to the initiative, fostering community bonding and collective responsibility towards building a drug-free society.

The event concluded with a strong message emphasizing the importance of sports as a powerful tool for youth empowerment and social change. It also reaffirmed the commitment of DYSS Budgam towards promoting both athletic excellence and social awareness.
