Anantnag, Apr 22 (JKNS): In a strong show of solidarity and collective resolve, residents of Tangdhar, led by school children and supported by the civil administration, organized a peaceful rally on Tuesday condemning the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.

Hundreds of participants, including students, teachers, local officials, and community members, marched through key areas of Tangdhar carrying the national flag and placards advocating peace. The rally echoed with slogans denouncing terrorism and emphasizing communal harmony, national unity, and resilience in the face of violence.

The gathering served as both a tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam attack and a reaffirmation of the region’s unwavering commitment to peace. Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of standing united against acts of terror and preserving the social fabric of Kashmir.

A significant segment of the rally was dedicated to acknowledging the prompt and effective response of the Indian Army during Operation Sindoor. Participants expressed gratitude for the vigilance, courage and professionalism of the armed forces in ensuring the safety and security of civilians in sensitive border areas.

Local administrators reiterated their commitment to fostering peace and encouraging youth participation in constructive initiatives. School representatives emphasized the role of education in promoting tolerance, awareness and national integration.

The rally concluded with a moment of silence in memory of the victims, followed by a collective pledge to reject violence and work towards a safer, more harmonious future.

The event highlighted the enduring bond between civilians and security forces in frontier regions like Tangdhar, sending a clear message of unity against terrorism and a shared vision for lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
