Srinagar, Apr 23 (JKNS): Government Higher Secondary School Frisal in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police organised a grand awareness programme on Thursday as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to combat the growing menace of drug abuse.

The programme witnessed active participation of school staff, police personnel and students, who highlighted the alarming rise in substance abuse and stressed the need for collective efforts to eradicate the social evil.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of HSS Frisal urged students to focus on academics and physical well-being while staying away from harmful influences.

The in-charge of Police Post Frisal, in his address, advised students to refrain from drug use and other unlawful activities, while also sensitising them about provisions of the NDPS Act and strict legal action against offenders.

Students also participated actively and appealed to their peers to act as ambassadors of a drug-free society and contribute towards building a healthier and safer community. (JKNS)
