Keran, Apr 23 (JKNS): The Indian Army and the brave soldiers of Rashtriya Rifles organized a dignified wreath laying ceremony at the Rooh-E-Hind Flag Site in Keran to honour the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty in Pahalgam.

The ceremony reflected deep emotion, unity, and gratitude as the community gathered to remember the fallen heroes. Over 300 students, 12 teachers, and nearly 80 local residents participated enthusiastically, showcasing the strong bond between the Army and the people of Keran.

Wreaths were laid with full military honours by a veteran, a respected representative of Keran, and the Company Commander. The tribute symbolized collective remembrance and reinforced the spirit of patriotism among the youth.

Adding a humanitarian dimension to the event, 300 school bags filled with stationery were distributed to below-poverty-line and needy students. A medical outreach programme also brought relief to elderly residents, with 60 medical kits distributed through the generous support of Kafila NGO and Ami Punekar NGO.

The event successfully blended tribute with tangible welfare measures, strengthening community goodwill and encouraging participation.

It stood as a powerful reminder that remembrance is not only about honouring sacrifice but also about building hope, unity, and a shared responsibility for a brighter and peaceful future. (JNKS)
