Budgam, May 1 (JKNS): In a major initiative aimed at strengthening community policing and enhancing public trust, District Police Budgam on Friday organised “Thana Diwas / Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG)” meetings across several parts of the district.

The meetings were held at Townhall Magam, Pallar Budgam, Check Khalakhan, Talab Kalan, Shamsabad Khansahib, Chadoora, Khag, Budgam, Mazhama, Wachoo Hardpanzoo, Narbal, Pakherpora, Humhama, Waterhail, Mouchwa, Karipora, Soibugh, and Naraspora.
These programmes witnessed active participation from local residents, community representatives, and youth from the respective areas. Jurisdictional officers of District Police Budgam interacted with attendees, patiently listening to their grievances and concerns.
Key issues relating to drug abuse, traffic management, and other civic matters were discussed in detail. Participants were encouraged to share suggestions and extend cooperation in maintaining peace, communal harmony, and public safety.
Special emphasis was laid on the ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan, with officers sensitising the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and highlighting the collective responsibility of society in curbing this menace.
Officers of Budgam Police assured that all genuine grievances raised during the meetings would be addressed promptly and effectively. The participants appreciated the initiative and expressed their willingness to cooperate fully with the police. (JKNS)
