Mass youth gathering at Rajpora calls for social reform, cultural awareness and collective fight against drug menace

Srinagar, May 2 (JKNS): Senior BJP leader Ashok Koul and J&K Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Saturday stressed the urgent need for cultural awareness and collective action against drug abuse and violence while addressing the “Aagaaz” social transformation programme at Rajpora in Pulwama.

Social Transformation Programme “Aagaaz” (a step towards a better tomorrow), was organized by Royal Youth Club Rajpora in collaboration with Awaam Ki Awaaz at Eco Park, CB Nath Rajpora on Saturday where Ashok Koul was the Chief Speaker and Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi participated as the guest of honor.

Others who addressed the gathering were prominent social leader Arshid Bhat, Zaid Arif, Patron of the Royal Youth Club & Ishfaq Bhat, Patron of Awaam Ki Awaaz organization.

A huge gathering of the youth & the prominent citizens of the area were part of the event. This programme was organised for a public deliberation about social reforms and positive change initiatives within our society.

Ashok Koul in his address stressed on the need to mobilize our youth to adhere to the cultural and moral traditions of the land in order to inculcate the spirit of belonging and traditions among our new generation which is facing huge challenges amid the uncertainty created by social evils and materialistic approaches. In her address Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi said that said that now when we are out of the troubled days due to the political reforms during the past few years, we have to p lay our role to reap the fruits of sustainable peace and development gifted to us by our Prime Minister.

“Together we have to create a Drug free & Violence free society. Together we have to safeguard our treasure, the youth from falling prey to the sinister designs of our enemies”, said Dr Darakhshan. The youth expressed themselves and hailed this initiative and the organisers forgiving the platform to every citizen to be part of the deliberations. (JKNS)
