Anantnag, May 9 (JKNS): Continuing its intensified crackdown against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Anantnag Police on Friday apprehended an alleged drug peddler in the Larnoo area of the district and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
As per news agency JKNS, During routine patrolling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Larnoo, a suspicious person was intercepted by the police party at Khrety, Larnoo. Upon questioning, he disclosed his identity as Gh Nabi Raina S/o Gh Rasool Raina R/o Frimoo Gadol, Ahlan Kokernag.
During his personal search, 06 sticks of charas-like substance wrapped in corn husk, weighing approximately 96 grams, were recovered from his possession. The accused was immediately taken into custody and the contraband substance was seized on spot as per legal procedures.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 25/2026 under sections 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Larnoo and investigation has been taken up to ascertain forward and backward linkages involved in the illegal narcotics trade.
Anantnag Police remains committed towards eradicating the drug menace from society and appeals to the general public to continue sharing information regarding drug peddling and other criminal activities. (JKNS)
