Karnah, May 10 (JKNS): In a major development for the border area of Karnah, the government has approved the establishment of a separate Hydraulic Division, which will include PHE, Irrigation, and Flood Control departments.
MLA Karnah Javaid Ahmad Mirchal expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Minister Javaid Rana for granting final approval to the long-pending demand. He said the new division was much needed for the remote and border constituency of Karnah.
According to the MLA, a separate Executive Engineer will now be posted to oversee the functioning of the departments under the new division. The move is expected to improve administrative efficiency, speed up developmental works, and ensure better public service delivery in the region.
It is pertinent to mention that the MLA had earlier written a detailed letter to the Chief Minister, highlighting the geographical remoteness, difficult terrain, and developmental needs of Karnah while requesting the creation of a separate Hydraulic Division.
Residents of the area have welcomed the decision and expressed hope that it will strengthen water supply, irrigation facilities, and overall infrastructure development in Karnah. (JKNS)
