Srinagar, May 12 (JKNS): General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Northern Command on Tuesday visited the forward areas of Poonch district and the Romeo Force Headquarters to review the prevailing security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region.
As per details available with news agency JKNS, the Army Commander was briefed on sustained domination activities being carried out across the Pir Panjal range, the robust intelligence grid and effective coordination among various security agencies operating in the area.
During the visit, the senior Army officer also reviewed security arrangements put in place by Rashtriya Rifles battalions for the annual migration of Gujjar and Bakarwal communities to upper reaches.
The Army Commander interacted with troops deployed in the forward areas and appreciated their professionalism, operational preparedness and resolute domination of the region despite difficult terrain and harsh weather conditions. (JKNS)
