Abu Dhabi/New Delhi, May 15 (JKNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday termed his visit to the United Arab Emirates “short but highly productive” and said the India-UAE friendship continues to grow stronger with expanding cooperation in key strategic and economic sectors.
In a series of posts shared on X, as per news agency JKNS, PM Modi highlighted the outcomes of his discussions with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and reaffirmed India’s commitment towards further deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
Prime Minister Modi began his remarks by thanking the UAE President for personally receiving him at Abu Dhabi airport, describing it as a “special gesture.” He said the visit reflected the warmth and close friendship shared by the leadership of both nations.
“I thank my brother HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for the special gesture of receiving me at Abu Dhabi airport. I look forward to our discussions towards furthering India-UAE ties across key sectors like energy, investment, supply chains and more,” PM Modi wrote.
The Prime Minister said the relationship between India and the UAE has emerged as one of the strongest bilateral partnerships in the region and stressed that both countries remain committed towards working together for global peace, growth and prosperity.
“The friendship between India and UAE is very strong! Our nations will keep working together with the aim of building a better future for our planet,” he stated in another post.
During the visit, PM Modi held extensive discussions with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on a wide range of bilateral, regional and global issues. The Prime Minister reiterated India’s strong condemnation of the recent attacks on the UAE and appreciated the UAE leadership for its handling of the situation.
“Had excellent discussions with my brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Reiterated our strongest condemnation of the attacks on the UAE. Also appreciated my brother’s leadership, courage and wisdom, which have been evident throughout this period,” PM Modi said.
He also expressed gratitude for the care and support extended towards the Indian community living and working in the UAE, acknowledging their important role in strengthening people-to-people ties between the two nations.
According to PM Modi, the two leaders discussed ways to further deepen cooperation under the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, particularly in sectors such as trade, energy security, logistics, infrastructure, supply chains and advanced technologies.
A major highlight of the visit was the signing and conclusion of several agreements and understandings in vital sectors including energy, defence, infrastructure, shipping and advanced technology. The Prime Minister said these agreements would provide fresh momentum to bilateral cooperation and open new opportunities for economic collaboration between the two countries.
“This UAE visit also saw the conclusion of key agreements across vital areas such as energy, defence, infrastructure, shipping and advanced technology, giving fresh impetus to the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” PM Modi said.
In another important development, the UAE announced investments worth USD 5 billion in India. Prime Minister Modi welcomed the investment announcement and said it would significantly strengthen economic engagement and enhance long-term cooperation between the two countries.
He concluded his visit by expressing confidence that the outcomes of the discussions and agreements signed during the visit would further consolidate the strong ties between India and the UAE and contribute towards mutual growth and prosperity.
