Karnah, May 14 (JKNS): MLA Karnah Javed Ahmad Mirchal on Thursday raised several key public concerns related to Karnah during his meeting with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the SM Hill Complex in Tangdhar.
During the interaction, Mirchal informed the Lieutenant Governor that the post of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Karnah has remained vacant for the past nine months, causing serious inconvenience to the local population. He said the prolonged absence of an SDM has adversely affected administrative functioning and disrupted the delivery of essential public services, forcing residents to face hardships even for routine official matters.
Highlighting the developmental needs of the region, the MLA also discussed the tourism potential of Karnah, particularly the scenic destinations of Bangus Valley, remote Behak areas, and other picturesque locations. He stated that these areas possess immense tourism potential and emphasized that improved infrastructure, road connectivity, accommodation facilities, and basic amenities could significantly boost tourism and generate employment opportunities for local youth.
Mirchal further appealed to the administration to simplify the pass system for people travelling to the Behak areas, stating that the existing process should be made more accessible, transparent, and convenient for both locals and visitors.
The MLA also expressed gratitude to the government for including eight villages of Karnah under the Vibrant Village Programme and said he hoped the initiative would accelerate development and improve living conditions in the border region.
During the event at SM Hill, Mirchal held a detailed discussion with the Lieutenant Governor on several developmental and public welfare issues concerning Karnah. He was assured that the matters raised during the meeting would be addressed at the earliest. (JKNS)
