Sopore, May 17 (JKNS): 179-BN CRPF organised a one-day seminar on ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ at GMET School Nowpora Sopore to spread awareness against drug abuse among students and local youth.

CO 179-BN Shri Vinay Kumar Choudhary was the Chief Guest on the occasion. 2IC Vipin Kumar, 2IC Mange Ram Sharma, DC Abhay Singh Bhatia, CMO Dr. Vipin Singh, PSI Fruit Mandi Imtiyaz Malik, Syed Asmat Community Health offficer ,Chairman GMET School Nowpora, President Auqaf Committee Nowpora, Chairman Civil Society Nowpora, and Principal GMET School Nowpora and AC Prem Anand Sharma, were also present on the occasion.

Dr. Javid Ahmad Bhat, Medical Officer from SDH Sopore, Dr. Javid Ahmad Monga from 179-BN CRPF, and Syed Asmat, Community Health Officer, delivered guest lectures on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

Dr. Javid Ahmad Bhat delivered a powerful speech and termed the seminar a great initiative by 179-BN CRPF officials.

 

He highlighted the causes and consequences of drug abuse and drug addiction, and stressed preventive measures to curb this menace. Dr. Javid Monga also highlighted the importance of the programme and youth engagement in building a drug-free society.

 

Syed Asmat, CHO, spoke on the role of community health workers in early identification and counseling of drug abuse cases.

Civil Society Chairman Nowpora, Tawseef Farooq, expressed gratitude to 179-BN CRPF for organising the programme at GMET School. “This is a great initiative by CRPF.

 

They are on their toes every time for the welfare of society. CRPF regularly organises free medical camps, cricket tournaments, football tournaments, and other important programmes for the benefit of local youth of Sopore and adjoining areas,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, CO 179-BN Vinay Kumar Choudhary said, “The new generation is the future of our nation. We are committed to strengthening social values and making joint efforts to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from society.

 

CRPF is always helping our community to prevent our youth from drugs.”

He also thanked the school management for providing the hall and appreciated students who performed a skit on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

On the occasion, 179-BN CRPF distributed mementos to dignitaries, staff members, speakers, and stakeholders. Certificates were also given to students who shared valuable thoughts and delivered speeches during the seminar. (JKNS)
