Srinagar, May 20 (JKNS): District Police Srinagar on Wednesday organized an interactive meeting with retired police personnel at District Police Lines (DPL) Srinagar to strengthen coordination and address welfare-related concerns of former police officials.
As per news agency JKNS, The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of around 50 retired police personnel and was chaired by SP Headquarters Srinagar, Shri Shah Umar, along with DySP DAR Sh. Nazir Ahmad at DPL Srinagar.
The meeting was aimed at strengthening coordination with Retired Police personnel and addressing their welfare related concerns and grievances. During the interaction, the President of the Police Retired Officers Grievance Association (PRONG) projected various issues concerning the welfare and facilitation of retired Police personnel.
The key issues highlighted during the meeting included, Allocation of suitable office accommodation for the association. Conduct of an annual grievance redressal Darbar under the chairmanship of DGP J&K at Srinagar. Organization of annual social gatherings/get-togethers for retired police personnel.
Enhancement of the financial ceiling of the Unit Welfare Relief Fund up to ₹10,000. Establishment of a dedicated priority counter for retired police personnel at Police Hospital Srinagar.
SP Headquarters Srinagar heard the grievances and assured the participants that all genuine issues would be taken up with the concerned authorities for appropriate redressal at the earliest.
The retired Police personnel appreciated the initiative of District Police Srinagar and expressed gratitude for providing them a platform to share their concerns and suggestions.
The meeting concluded in a cordial atmosphere with a renewed commitment towards the welfare and well-being of retired police personnel. (JKNS)
