Bandipora, Jun 8 (JKNS): Cabinet Minister Javed Ahmad Dar today chaired a meeting at Dak Bungalow Sumbal to review the arrangements for the upcoming month of Muharram. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Indu Kanwal Chib Hilal Akbar Lone, MLA Sonawari, senior district officers, and heads of various departments.

During the meeting, representatives from different areas highlighted several issues and challenges related to Muharram arrangements. The concerns were brought to the notice of the Minister and the district administration. Javed Ahmad Dar, along with the Deputy Commissioner and MLA Sonawari, assured the participants that all genuine issues would be addressed on priority to ensure the smooth observance of Muharram.

Speaking to the media, the Minister stated that the administration is committed to providing all necessary facilities and services in Shia-majority areas during Muharram. He said that every effort would be made to ensure the availability of essential civic amenities and other required arrangements for mourners.

Responding to a question regarding elections, Javed Ahmad Dar said that certain formalities and procedures need to be completed before the electoral process can be initiated. He added that elections would be conducted once all required formalities are fulfilled.

On the occasion, prominent Socio-Poltical activist Amin Pathan of Nowgam Sonawari, along with other senior citizens, expressed their gratitude to MLA Sonawari Hilal Akbar Lone Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Indu Kanwal Chib particularly Cabinet Minister Javed Ahmad Dar for their assurance and commitment towards addressing the public issues raised during the meeting.
