Dalgate Premier League Kicks Off at TRC Ground, Promotes Youth Engagement Through Sports

Srinagar, Jun 15 (JKNS): The Dalgate Premier League (DPL), organised by the Cricket Fraternity Dalgate, commenced at the TRC Ground Srinagar on Monday with an enthusiastic inaugural ceremony aimed at promoting sportsmanship and encouraging youth participation in constructive activities.

The Chief Guest, SSP Enforcement Wing, Salahuddin Chowdhary Sahib, graced the occasion and encouraged the participants with his presence, as per news agency JKNS, A total of 10 teams will participate in the tournament and compete in the league stage matches.

The opening match of the tournament was played between Saudi CC and Boulevard CC. After an exciting contest, Saudi CC emerged victorious and secured the first win of the DPL.

The Cricket Fraternity Dalgate extends its gratitude to all the guests, players, officials, and supporters for making the inauguration ceremony a success and looks forward to an exciting and competitive tournament ahead.

The Cricket Fraternity Dalgate has emerged as one of the active sports groups in the area, consistently working to promote cricket and other sporting activities among local youth. Through regular tournaments and community-based events, the fraternity has been providing young players with opportunities to display their talent and pursue their passion for sports.

Members of the fraternity said their primary objective is to keep youngsters positively engaged and channel their energy towards constructive activities. They believe that sports play a crucial role in character building, discipline, teamwork and leadership development while helping youth stay away from drug abuse and other social challenges.

Over the years, the fraternity has successfully organised several cricket tournaments at different levels, attracting participation from various clubs and emerging cricketers from across the city. These initiatives have not only strengthened the sporting culture in the locality but have also encouraged many talented players to continue their journey in competitive cricket.

The organisers said they remain committed to supporting grassroots sports and creating a healthy environment where young people can grow, compete and excel. They expressed hope that the Dalgate Premier League will further inspire aspiring cricketers and serve as a platform for discovering new talent from the area. (JKNS)
